The Ocean’s Edge: We Meet Again

And I come to the ocean's edge and am always surprised to find the waves crashing—sea meeting beach. It never ceases. Even when I am away, not thinking of it at all, it still happens. The sea meets the sandy shore—storming at times or gently lapping quietly. It never stops. It's here to tell us its story again and again.

All troubles seem to fade away when we hear its tale. Maybe that's why people revisit so often. We know it can roar and scare us to death. It's our friend until it's not. We know it can soothe like no other. We know it always tells a story we want to hear.

At sunrise and at sunset, the colors of freshly-picked peaches, bright red strawberries, and soft wild lilacs fill the sky as if they've been thrown to the wind anew each time. The lightning strikes and the dramatic sky speaks, and the black starlit sky with moonbeams reflects across ocean waves.

No words are needed. And every so often, there's magic in the night when phosphorus sparkles on beaches exciting wonder without a doubt.
