Ocean-floating is kind of like magic…
When life handed me a harsh new reality, it took me a while to come to the surface and start moving forward. I learned survival skills— either sink or swim.
And I come to the ocean’s edge and am always surprised to find the waves crashing—sea meeting beach. It never ceases.
I escaped today to a cape on the Eastern Shore with my daughter, her husband, and four children. Our toes sank in thick wet sand, and we climbed the breaker rocks and passed glistening seagrass searching for minnows and crabs.
Staring at this mountain, taking it all in. My story begins here, at least part of my story. My grandfather's father came from this place, this most-beautiful-spot-in-the-world place, Grindelwald, Switzerland.
